Jordan Cozby

Jordan Cozby, BR ’20, is doubling majoring in economics and history. He was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama and first got involved in politics as a fellow with President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. Since then, he served as the national chairman of the High School Democrats of America and on the Hillary for Alabama Leadership Council. Jordan is the Elections Coordinator for the Yale College Democrats, a tutor with New Haven Reads, and is involved with the Yale Undergraduate Legal Aid Association. Additionally, he is currently working for the Association of Yale Alumni and interning for Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro.

Building Public Support for Land Conservation Ballot Measures

From its present stance as the only nation that is not a member of the Paris Agreement to its reduction of public lands protections at the federal and state level, the United States appears be failing to lead on environmental causes when compared to other developed nations. But while voters elected the officials who implemented many of these policies, the public seems to care deeply about conservation, as shown by popular voting behaviors for ballot measures.
