The twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss demand conservation finance solutions that are more creative, scalable, and equitable than ever before. To meet this pivotal moment, the Conservation Finance Network (CFN) is launching an ambitious five-year strategic vision to accelerate the conservation of land and natural resources (see 2.0 vision). We are seeking an entrepreneurial, forward-thinking leader to leverage the experience of the staff and steering committee to turn this vision into reality.
Building on two decades of pioneering work—having engaged thousands of practitioners—CFN strives to advance land and resource conservation by cultivating a vibrant community of nonprofit, public and private sector practitioners that shares best practices and expands the use of innovative and effective funding and financing strategies.
We will guide the network to:
- CONVENE: Mobilize the field through targeted in-person convenings for early-career to seasoned practitioners, while scaling remote training programs that prepare the next generation of conservation finance leaders.
- CONNECT: Forge powerful peer-to-peer exchange networks and deliver a revamped, innovation-focused digital platform and blog to link practitioners with critical tools, resources, and collaborative opportunities.
- COACH: Partner with public, philanthropic, and private leaders to deploy hands-on “circuit riding” assistance, helping practitioners navigate complex deals and implement high-impact initiatives.
- CATALYZE: Drive field-wide action on emerging market trends by launching specialized working groups and commissioning definitive reports on the future of conservation finance.
With guidance from an expanded Steering Committee of conservation experts (see Our People) and in concert with leading academic and non-profit institutions, CFN will shape the future of conservation finance in the US.
